Fern Gully is approximately 80 minutes from Montego Bay. Along the way you can look at or purchase artifacts and hand-made carvings by locals in and around the area. The journey to Blue Hole traverses the Jamaican countryside. This is a unique variation to Dunn’s River Falls that is on the border of St. Ann and St. Mary (we can certainly go to Dunn's River if that is your preference). After you're done cliff diving and swimming in the river, we'll have lunch at Ocho Rios Jerk Center. The day closes out at Mystic Mountain, just on the outskirts of the city. From zip-lining and bobsledding to an infinity pool and butterfly garden, there's something for everyone on Mystic Mountain!
Fern Gully
The flora and fauna creates a canopy that nestles the roadway that motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians use to traverse this unique treasure. The forest is the home for over three hundred varieties of ferns, as well as other plants that the botanist in you will value.
Blue Hole aka Secret Falls
Beat the sun and ease into the cool slow flow waters of Blue Hole. The river winds through the tree-filled paradise offering a nice shaded break from the hot Jamaican sun. Be bold and jump into the diving pools (as deep as 30+ feet), allow the waterfalls to massage your back, or play it safe in the shallow wading/swimming areas of the river.
Find out how wonderful nature is at Blue Hole. Here you will find natural Jamaican plants and flowers. Try to catch a glimpse of Jamaica’s national bird, the humming bird/Doctor Bird gathering nectar from its favorite flowers.
Mystic Mountain
There’s so many things to do at this Jamaican attraction near Dunn’s River Falls and the Ocho Rios port. Start off by hopping onto the sky explorer (similar to a ski lift, but larger) which will take you above the tall trees and give you a great view of the blue sea. At the top of this 700 foot climb you will find information about Jamaican history and culture.
Pay homage to the Jamaican bobsled team by zooming down the track in your very own bobsled. The only difference is that you will not have to face frigid temperatures while doing it. On the contrary, you will be drifting by rich green trees and seeing forest animals in their natural habitat. Going too fast to soak it all in? Take a stroll through the Butterfly or Hummingbird Garden.
Finish the day with an adrenaline rush! If you’ve never been ziplining, Jamaica is the place to do it. With six zipline tracks (including one vertical drop) and one suspension bridge to cross, your adventurous heart will be pleased.
Not into heights? Cool off and still have fun in the Mystic Waterslide and Infinity Edge Pool overlooking the gorgeous sea of the Ocho Rios port.
